I saw a programme on

SBS about Australian Values last night. Maybe I came into the programme too late but no-one said anything about valuing our AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN MR DAVID HICKS who is locked up in an American gaol and has been there for five years. Hello? Hello? Do Australian Values count for valuing one of our very own citizens? Or is it another weasel word? They raved on about democracy and rule of law and not one of them saw the hypocricy of their words with one of their very own citizens' being locked up without being in Court - where there is the RULE of LAW - for FIVE YEARS. No, not five hours or five days or five weeks or five months but FIVE YEARS. Hello? Does anyone care? Yes, I know you got your pictures on the tele but MR David Hicks, Mr Citizen of Australia David Hicks?
And then when an Aborigine tried to speak, the compere quickly passed over him to another speaker. Ah, doesn't matter, he was only an Aboriginal. His opinions don't count when it comes to Australian values. What would he know about Australian Values anyway?

Good old David Hicks. All those true blue values like not having a beer with his mates because he follows a religion of hate founded by a 7th century paedophile warlord. So what if he hates Western democracy and joins a terrorist organisation? So proud to be Australian that he applied for British citizenship. Never mind that that his chums in AQ want to murder anyone who doesn't swallow their religion. He must be better than John Howard and the world would be so much better if we all followed our mate Dave's shining example.

I think not. Get real, open your eyes you sad bitter and twisted fool

If you think the twin paranoid obsessions that run through this blog, ie i) David Hicks is a wonderful human being that the Australian government should bust their nuts for to help him, even though he intended to violently oppose them.

ii) John Howard is the epitome of all evil. (He is merely a politician fortunate to have an opposition far more incompetent than he is).

- are arguments for debate, then sorry. It is just that they look awfully like the rantings of a bitter loser.
